This one has the dark blue dial. The original cost was Y55,000. This watch was made in October 1993. If you are new to Seiko Kinetics, earlier referred to as AGS for Automatic Generating System, here is a brief summary of the key points. The watch has a Seiko kinetic/AGS movement where a rotating weight runs a generator that charges a capacitor/rechargeable battery. It runs "faster than a Formula 1 engine" to quote Seiko's advertising at up to 100,000 rpm. The original design used a capacitor which has now been upgraded to a special design of rechargeable battery which provides a longer run time. The battery then provides the energy to drive a quartz movement. As the quartz movement has a very low current draw, a fully charged battery in this movement can run the movement for up to 4 months. Recharging is done by normal wrist action while wearing (like a mechanical automatic watch), by deliberately shaking, or using a charger. The movement has a charge indicator activated by pressing the top button. It has three responses, a five second fast movement, ten second and thirty second. Thirty second is considered fully charged, five second is considered minimal and needs recharging. In addition at very low charge levels, the second hand will move at two second intervals instead of the normal one. There is more information in the instruction booklet for the movement which is available online. The bezel turns anti-clockwise with clicks by design. Note the crown was pulled out for some of the photos. The watch comes with the original Seiko stainless bracelet. It measures at 7 11/16" with the watch, laid out flat. This means that your wrist will need to be less than this amount in order to achieve the proper fit. Dimensions: 3-9 42mm, 4-10 39mm, Thickness 12.5mm, all approx. 19mm lug width. CONDITION This is a used watch in very good cosmetic condition. Some signs of use. Some signs of minor corrosion on the caseback which should seal up with a new o ring. The crystal has no obvious marks or scratches. Underneath the crystal, the dial looks excellent. See photos. Works well and keeps good time. The day, date and hands set as expected. New rechargeable battery and fully charged. The service history is not known. Not tested for water resistance. Sold as-is. No returns. Ask questions first.
